Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a SEN school in Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf. The role of Teaching Assistant in this setting offers an excellent opportunity to support learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) within a dynamic educational environment. The school supports learners aged 3 to 16 years with a variety of special educational needs, and the successful Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in supporting children with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about making a positive impact on children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant, your key duties will include:
- Supporting and supervising learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Assisting learners at the start and end of the school day
- Helping staff prepare classrooms for lessons and activities
- Working with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support
- Supporting the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
- Assisting learners during break times and lunchtimes
- Engaging learners in classroom and outdoor activities
- Following the school’s behaviour management policies
Requirements:
- At least 3 months’ experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC); support available for registration
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs and committed to inclusive education
