Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a SEN school in Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf. The role of Teaching Assistant in this setting offers an excellent opportunity to support learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) within a dynamic educational environment. The school supports learners aged 3 to 16 years with a variety of special educational needs, and the successful Teaching Assistant will play a vital role in supporting children with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This position is ideal for professionals passionate about making a positive impact on children with additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant, your key duties will include:

Supporting and supervising learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
Assisting learners at the start and end of the school day
Helping staff prepare classrooms for lessons and activities
Working with learners in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support
Supporting the delivery of lessons alongside the class teacher
Assisting learners during break times and lunchtimes
Engaging learners in classroom and outdoor activities
Following the school’s behaviour management policies

Requirements:

At least 3 months’ experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC); support available for registration
Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
Right to work in the UK
Passionate about supporting children with additional needs and committed to inclusive education
