Job Description:
Our client, a supportive and nurturing school in Runcorn is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a safe and inclusive environment, supporting pupils with complex needs from ages 5 to 18. The school is committed to fostering emotional wellbeing and personal growth alongside academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant based in Runcorn, your daily duties will include:

• Mentoring and supporting individual pupils or small groups of up to six pupils
• Assisting classroom teachers during lessons and activities
• Reporting on pupils’ progress and liaising with staff to meet pupils’ needs
• Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including extracurricular activities and trips
• Supporting lesson planning, classroom preparation, and marking
• Building positive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and learning outcomes
• Taking additional responsibility in areas such as lunchtime supervision, school trips, or extracurricular activities

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:

• A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics
• Previous experience in a similar role, particularly working with pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
• Confidence in behaviour management techniques and classroom support
• Experience of working with children in an educational setting
• A commitment to professional development and learning
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (cost covered by the employer)
