Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in a Pupil Referral Service in Liverpool, Merseyside.

The school supports learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education is looking for Teaching Assistants in or around the Liverpool area who are experienced in these fields.

Overview:

  • Title: Teaching Assistants
  • Pay: £90.00 per day minimum
  • Location: Liverpool
  • Hours: Full time or part time - Monday to Friday 830am - 3pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Teaching Assistant

  • Supporting and supervising learners with SEMH, SEBD, EBD or Challenging Behaviour
  • Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day
  • Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson
  • Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs
  • Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons
  • Assist learners at break time with their lunch
  • Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Teaching Assistant

  • At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial
  • Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
