Job Description:

This full-time role offers an inspiring opportunity to support children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) in a welcoming primary school environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored, specialist support to pupils with PMLD, fostering their development and well-being
  • Assist with personal care and communication strategies, including objects of reference, touch cues, and sensory approaches
  • Implement highly differentiated, multi-sensory learning activities to engage pupils and support their individual progress
  • Collaborate closely with the Class Teacher and external professionals such as therapists to create an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Support the development of life skills and promote independence among pupils
  • Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, especially PMLD, is advantageous
  • Knowledge of communication methods such as sensory approaches, objects of reference, and touch cues
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting inclusive education
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with children and colleagues
  • Flexibility and commitment to a full-time, long-term position
