Job Description:
Our client, a well-resourced and modern school in the Wirral, is seeking a caring and committed Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to support a specific pupil with limited speech and independence skills. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dedicated team committed to improving children’s opportunities and development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) based in the Wirral, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting a pupil with their social, communication, and learning needs through one-to-one and small group work.
- Assisting in the development of communication, social interaction, attention, and early literacy and mathematical skills.
- Supporting the pupil within the classroom environment alongside their peers to promote inclusion and engagement.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and supporting their personal development in line with their care plan.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA), you will need:
- An NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs or other SEND.
- Mandatory compliance with an enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
- Paediatric First Aid certification or willingness to complete the training.
