Job Description:
A leading specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Team Leader to join their team in Croydon, London. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for experienced professionals passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care. As a Children’s Residential Team Leader, you will oversee daily shifts, support staff, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead shifts, coordinate staff on duty, and ensure effective handovers and continuity of care
  • Support young people with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour management strategies
  • Maintain a safe environment by following care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
  • Complete high-quality documentation, including daily logs, incident reports, and medication records
  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job guidance
  • Work closely with managers and external professionals to promote positive outcomes for young people
  • Foster a positive team culture with clear boundaries and consistent expectations

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a children’s residential setting
  • Ability to work a variable shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
  • Strong communication skills, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach
  • Full UK driving licence (strongly desirable)
