Job Title: Children's Residential Team Leader – Care & Support
Location: Preston, Lancashire, UK
Salary: £14.50 per hour / £50 per sleep
Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children's Residential Team Leader to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people in a welcoming 2-bed residential home in Preston. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to step into a leadership role. Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a warm, positive environment by engaging children in activities, hobbies, and educational pursuits
- Build trusting relationships with children, their families, and other professionals
- Support the development of independent living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal organisation
- Assist with implementing individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Promote social, emotional, and physical development
- Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure high-quality care
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
- Compassionate, empathetic, and caring towards children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties
- Patient, resilient, and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Enthusiastic, creative, and proactive in engaging children through activities
- Reliable, responsible, and committed to delivering consistent care
- Excellent communicators, able to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues
- Flexible, willing to work a rota including sleep-ins (fully paid)
- Full UK Driving Licence (due to activity locations)
- Understanding of safeguarding principles and child welfare
- Basic IT skills for record keeping
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (Full training provided):
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent
