Job Description:
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Team Manager to lead a team of specialist practitioners within our residential provision for autistic young people with complex needs. The Team Manager – Specialist Residential Care (Autism & Complex Needs) will oversee the daily operations of our residential homes in Hermitage, Berkshire, ensuring the highest standards of health, wellbeing, and personalized support are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive leader to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people in a nurturing, autism-friendly environment.
As the Team Manager – Specialist Residential Care (Autism & Complex Needs), you will model best practices, empower your team through coaching and professional development, and ensure that every young person receives tailored care that promotes independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and mentor support practitioners to deliver exceptional care in Hermitage, Berkshire.
- Oversee staff attendance, sickness, and performance management, including monthly check-ins and improvement plans.
- Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of team members.
- Implement autism-specific strategies to enhance communication, learning, and wellbeing of young people.
- Assist in interpreting and applying individualized care plans to ensure consistent, high-quality support.
- Oversee personal care in line with dignity and individual protocols.
- Manage shift schedules, including early (7am–4pm) and late (2pm–10pm) shifts across a seven-day rota.
Requirements:
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities.
- Experience in line management, coaching, or mentoring small teams is highly desirable.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred due to location.
- A proactive leader committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
