Job Description:
Our client, a leading provider of specialised care and support for young people with autism and complex needs, is seeking a dedicated Team Manager to oversee a team of autism professionals in the Newbury, Berkshire area. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead practice excellence and ensure the delivery of outstanding outcomes for young people within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Team Manager based in Newbury, Berkshire, your daily duties will include:
- Leading and coaching a team of Autism Practitioners to deliver person-centred support aligned with individual learning and wellbeing goals.
- Ensuring the consistent application of autism-friendly strategies and This Is Me plans.
- Managing young people's personal care, health needs, and medication administration in accordance with their plans.
- Overseeing accurate record-keeping within Prior Insight and managing young people's timetables and attendance.
- Maintaining a safe environment by following safeguarding procedures, risk assessments, and hygiene standards.
- Supporting the recruitment, induction, and performance management of staff, fostering team motivation and morale.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with young people’s families and key stakeholders.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Team Manager in Newbury, Berkshire, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Autism Practitioner or in a similar role within a complex needs environment.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or similar qualification.
- Experience with assessment tools relevant to individuals with Autistic Spectrum Condition and complex needs.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, health and risk assessments, and national standards of care (Ofsted/CQC).
- A coaching and mentoring qualification is desirable, along with TEACCH training (3-day or 5-day courses).
- A valid UK Driving Licence and the ability to support young people with activities.
