Job Title: Children's Support Worker (Relief/Temporary)
Location: Maesteg, Bridgend, Wales
Salary: £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) / £76 per sleep-in shift

Job Description:

Our client, a leading specialist provider, is seeking compassionate and adaptable Children's Support Workers in the Maesteg area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
  • Support and participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or weekends away in holiday parks
  • Promote the independence and wellbeing of young people
  • Maintain safety and adhere to care plans and guidelines
  • Provide emotional and practical support to children and young people
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
  • Support children in all aspects of their care and development

Requirements:

  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a social care setting
  • Relationship-building skills and resilience
  • Understanding of trauma, homelessness, and domestic abuse impacts
  • Crisis response awareness and emotional resilience
  • Empathetic, caring, and adaptable nature
  • TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to undergo training)
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
