Job Title: Relief Support Worker – Children and Young People
Location: Pontyclun, South Wales, UK
Salary: Starting at £14.24 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Job Description:
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on young lives? A leading specialist provider is seeking compassionate and adaptable Relief Support Workers to join their team in Pontyclun. This role offers flexible working hours, allowing you to choose shifts that fit your schedule, whether you're a student, parent, or someone seeking additional income. As a Relief Support Worker, you will support children and young people in their daily activities, outings, and special events, helping to promote their independence and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people in their daily routines and interests
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children
  • Support and participate in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
  • Promote the young person's independence and overall wellbeing
  • Protect children and young people from health and safety risks
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and safety guidelines
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents effectively

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or within a social care setting (minimum 6 months)
  • Relationship-building skills and resilience in challenging situations
  • Understanding of trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, and their impacts
  • Crisis response awareness and emotional resilience
  • Empathetic, caring, and adaptable nature
  • TMVA - Restraint Training certificate or willingness to undergo training
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
