Job Title: Therapeutic Child Care Worker

Job Description:
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Therapeutic Child Care Workers to join a leading specialist provider supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma and instability. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children by providing safe, consistent, and nurturing care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate emotional resilience, reliability, and a strong team ethic, working within a supportive environment that prioritizes staff wellbeing and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, nurturing, and consistent care to children and young people.
- Support children with their emotional and behavioural needs, following clear behaviour management and risk plans.
- Assist with daily routines, including activities, education, and community access.
- Transport children to and from school, appointments, and activities using a full UK driving licence.
- Contribute to a positive team environment, participating in regular supervision and training.
- Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
- Support children’s development towards independence or transition into foster care.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Emotional resilience and self-regulation.
- Reliability, consistency, and calmness under pressure.
- Willingness to learn and reflect on practice.
- Strong professional boundaries and safeguarding commitment.
- Ability to work rota-based shifts, including early, late, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
- Experience working with children or in a care environment is desirable but not essential; values and attitude are more important.
