About the Role

Vetro Education is looking for a passionate and supportive Turkish-speaking Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Port Talbot.

This role will involve providing support to pupils across the school, with a focus on helping children who speak Turkish or have English as an additional language (EAL). You’ll play a key part in helping pupils settle into school life, develop their English skills, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils’ learning in the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.

• Provide one-to-one or small group support for Turkish-speaking pupils.

• Help pupils with English language development and understanding classroom instructions.

• Assist with classroom preparation and general teaching activities.

• Encourage positive behaviour, participation, and confidence in learning.

• Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure pupils’ needs are met.

Requirements

• Fluency in Turkish and English (spoken and written).

• Previous experience working with children or in an educational environment.

• A caring, patient, and proactive attitude.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

• Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant certificate (desirable but not essential).
