An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Waking Night Residential Children & Young People’s Worker to join a leading specialist provider at their new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home in Hinckley. This full-time, permanent role offers a rewarding environment where you can support children and young people aged 8-18, helping them develop confidence, independence, and social skills. The Waking Night Children & Young People’s Worker in Hinckley will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment during overnight hours, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build trusting, nurturing relationships that promote independence and emotional wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and professionals to support service users
- Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking and cleaning tasks
- Accurately document information and maintain up-to-date records
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment at all times
- Promote a safe, supportive environment during night shifts
Requirements:
- Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (public transport may be limited during working hours)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within the required timeframe
- Relevant experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to attend mandatory training and ongoing supervision during daytime hours when required
The Waking Night Children & Young People’s Worker in Hinckley will be based at the new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home, supporting children and young people through short-term placements. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital service, helping vulnerable children and young people thrive. Flexibility to travel within Leicestershire to other residential homes may be required.
