Waking Night Support Worker – Barry

Salary: £24,222 – £25,839 per year
Hours: 3 waking night shifts per week (8:30pm – 8:30am)

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We’re looking for a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join a team in Barry, providing overnight support to young people aged 11 to 18 in a safe, stable, and nurturing residential environment.

About the Role

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide consistent overnight supervision and emotional support
     

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people during night-time hours
     

  • Promote a calm, positive environment
     

  • Respond to incidents, emergencies, or concerns appropriately
     

  • Record accurate notes and handovers for day staff
     

  • Support young people with routines, independence, and confidence building

  • Ability to build trust and positive relationships with young people
     

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
     

  • Previous experience in care, support work, or youth settings is beneficial (but not essential—full training provided)
