Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Night Therapeutic Care Worker to join a leading specialist provider in Berrow, Gloucestershire. This full-time role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people aged 6 to 18 who have experienced trauma and emotional difficulties. As a Night Therapeutic Care Worker, you will create a safe, calm, and nurturing environment during overnight hours, supporting children through therapeutic approaches and ensuring their wellbeing. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a calm, therapeutic presence during bedtime and overnight hours to help children feel secure and supported.
- Respond appropriately to night wakings, anxieties, or challenges, using trauma-informed techniques such as PACE principles.
- Monitor the home throughout the night, conducting regular checks to ensure safety and wellbeing.
- Record significant events, sleep patterns, and concerns during the night.
- Complete household cleaning tasks to maintain a tidy, hygienic, and welcoming environment.
- Prepare breakfast, packed lunches, and organise household supplies for the following day.
- Carry out laundry, organise children’s clothing, and perform light maintenance or organisational tasks.
- Complete paperwork including logbooks, incident reports, and handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Support safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly, adhering to all relevant policies and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to support the therapeutic ethos of the home.
Requirements:
- Willingness to work night shifts in a therapeutic care environment.
- Ability to complete cleaning and domestic tasks to a high standard.
- Resilience and calmness under pressure, especially during night-time incidents.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold standards of care.
- Self-reflective with a willingness to learn and develop through supervision and training.
- Full manual driving licence (may be required for occasional cross-cover).
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
- Right to work in the UK and enhanced DBS clearance.
- Reside within 20 miles of the Gloucestershire head office (preferred).
- 21 years of age or older, in line with regulatory requirements.
- Willingness to work a varied shift pattern, including some weekends and evenings.
