Job Description:
We are a leading specialist care provider seeking a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join our residential team in Surrey. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting vulnerable young people aged 10 to 18. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will work alongside a colleague to ensure a safe, nurturing, and secure environment during night shifts. Your commitment will help promote the well-being, independence, and dignity of the young people in your care, making a meaningful difference in their lives. The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, providing flexible options to suit your availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe, caring, and well-ordered environment during night shifts.
  • Participate actively in care planning, risk assessments, and behavior management strategies.
  • Lead safeguarding efforts to protect the health and well-being of young people, following strict reporting policies.
  • Update daily logs and incident reports accurately using digital care management systems.
  • Implement behavior management strategies with empathy and consistency.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Stay informed about safeguarding legislation, internal policies, and the service’s Statement of Purpose.

Requirements:

  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong ICT skills for updating records and logs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy and sensitivity towards diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
  • High level of commitment to safeguarding and equality.
  • Previous experience in a care or support environment is desirable but not essential.
