Job Description:
We are a leading specialist care provider seeking a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join our residential team in Surrey. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable young people aged 10 to 18. As a Waking Night Support Worker, you will work alongside a colleague to ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment during night shifts. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe, caring, and well-ordered environment during night shifts.
- Participate actively in care planning, risk assessments, and behavior management strategies.
- Lead safeguarding efforts to protect the health and well-being of young people, following strict reporting policies.
- Update daily logs and incident reports accurately using digital care management systems.
- Implement behavior management strategies with empathy and consistency.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Stay informed about safeguarding legislation, internal policies, and the service’s Statement of Purpose.
Requirements:
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong ICT skills for updating records and logs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and sensitivity towards diverse social, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
- High level of commitment to safeguarding and equality.
- Flexibility to work 10-hour shifts, including evenings and weekends, with 2–3 shifts per week.
