Welsh Teacher – Bridgend

Are you passionate about teaching Welsh and inspiring students to appreciate Welsh language and culture? We are seeking a dedicated Welsh Teacher to join a secondary school in Bridgend. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Welsh specialist to make a positive impact while advancing their teaching career.

Position Overview:
As a Welsh Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience considered advantageous. You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and assessing student work in alignment with the Curriculum for Wales. A key focus will be promoting Welsh language development and fostering cultural awareness among pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic and interactive Welsh lessons tailored to KS3 and KS4 students (KS5 knowledge is desirable).
  • Create engaging lesson plans and assessments that meet curriculum standards.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment with strong behaviour management.
  • Support the development of Welsh language skills and cultural understanding.
  • Contribute to departmental planning and participate in school-wide activities.

Who You Are:

  • Possess QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Have experience teaching Welsh in a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management skills.
  • Exhibit a passion for promoting Welsh language and culture.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
