Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker (Young People’s Support Worker)
Location: Builth Wells, Powys, Wales
Salary: £13.68 - £28.40 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Job Description:

As a Young Persons Support Worker in Builth Wells, Powys, Wales, you’ll support children and young people who may be experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and trauma. This Young Persons Support Worker role in Builth Wells offers excellent rates of pay, weekly pay, and a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Young Persons Support Worker in Builth Wells
- Promote independence and wellbeing for young people in your care
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children (as required)
- Support weekend and evening activities, ranging from everyday interests to trips away
- Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within the young person’s home
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, manage, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
- Restraint training: restraint trained, or willing to undergo the 3-day course
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- TMVA / Restraint Training Certificate (where applicable)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
Working Hours (Young Persons Support Worker, Builth Wells):
09:30 – Sleep – 09:30, or 22:30 – 08:30
