Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Residential)
Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24–£28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

As a Children’s Support Worker in Barry, you’ll support young people to build independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes—making a real, measurable difference every day. This Children’s Support Worker role in Barry offers long days, sleep ins, and waking nights, with excellent rates and weekly pay.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Children’s Support Worker in Barry
- Promote independence and wellbeing, ensuring each young person’s needs are met
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children
- Support weekend and evening activities, ranging from everyday interests to exciting trips
- Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to support safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
- Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- TMVA/Restraint Training Certificate (or willingness to complete training)
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
