Job Description:
As a Projects Manager in Wales, you will oversee the delivery of housing-related support to vulnerable individuals aged 16 and over. This Project Manager role is responsible for ensuring the highest possible service for individuals supported, funders, and partnership agencies—working closely with Social Services and Housing. You will lead teams across two services while supporting effective, safe, and compassionate practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support teams to deliver high-quality housing-related support as a Projects Manager in Wales
- Provide reactionary support, advice and guidance to colleagues, including supervision and reflective practice attendance
- Support staff in managing risk and safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate guidance and escalation where required
- Manage annual leave approvals, sickness absences, and return-to-work processes for line-managed colleagues
- Apply Health & Safety procedures in line with organisational policies and work practices
- Ensure training completion through the organisational matrix and support new colleague induction
- Ensure clear handovers and accurate returns prior to submission to HR, Payroll, Monitoring and Evaluation
- Ensure appropriate cover for all projects (including on-call) to maintain effective service delivery
- Monitor service performance against project action plans and funding requirements, working with the Contract & Quality Assurance Manager
- Manage caseloads, referrals via the Locata Gateway, and urgent/emergency needs in line with contract requirements
- Ensure risk assessments, safety planning, and safeguarding processes are in place and acted on swiftly
- Liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies to sustain effective project operation
- Complete regular file and case management audits to ensure consistency of service delivery
- Support finance processes by ensuring authorised spending is within budget and monitoring that returns are submitted on time
- Represent the organisation at meetings as agreed, including local partnership and commissioner meetings
Requirements:
- Experience in line management in a support environment
- Experience managing teams supporting individuals with complex needs (e.g., mental health, offending, substance misuse, childhood trauma, care experience)
- Strong understanding of psychologically and trauma-informed practice
- Knowledge of housing and homelessness issues for young people and vulnerable groups, including those impacted by domestic abuse
- Experience with risk management measures and safety planning
- Ability to support teams to engage people with complex needs and trauma who may struggle to engage
- Confident decision-making in a sensitive, consultative manner
- Strong IT skills (MS Word, Teams, Outlook) and experience with case management systems
- Effective communication with individuals supported, colleagues, and professionals
- Positive attitude towards people with support needs and risk issues
- Driving licence and access to a car
On Call & Hours: 35 hours per week (flexible), plus a 1 in 6 on-call.
