Salary: £14.28–£28.48 inclusive of holiday pay (DOE)

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a dedicated Young Persons Support Worker in Llandrindod Wells to provide vital support to children and young people facing challenges such as homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, and trauma. Key Responsibilities:

• Support children and young people with daily activities and interests as a Young Persons Support Worker in Llandrindod Wells.
• Promote independence, emotional resilience, and positive outcomes for young people.
• Participate in weekends away, holidays, and trips with the children as part of the Young Persons Support Worker role.
• Assist with weekend and evening activities, ranging from everyday interests to organised trips.
• Protect children and young people from health and welfare risks, following care plans and guidelines.
• Provide emotional and practical support within the young person’s home environment.
• Support young people in overcoming challenges and minimise incidents during behavioural difficulties.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans to ensure safety and wellbeing.

Requirements:

• A genuine desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach.
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting.
• Restraint trained or willing to undertake a one-day restraint training course.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• TMVA / Restraint Training Certificate (where applicable).
• Current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.
