Job Description
Young Persons Support Worker roles are available in Bridgend, supporting young people within a busy, supportive service focused on stability, safety, and independence. You’ll be part of a values-led team helping young people develop practical life skills, manage challenges, and move forward with confidence. This is an on-site, shift-based position including days and nights.
Key Responsibilities
As a Young Persons Support Worker based in Bridgend, your daily duties will include:
- Building consistent, professional relationships and providing practical 1:1 support to young people
- Supporting independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, maintaining tenancies, and accessing education/employment
- Managing safeguarding concerns appropriately, responding calmly to crises, and using trauma-informed approaches
- Keeping accurate records, completing daily checks, and contributing to a safe, welcoming environment
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Young Persons Support Worker, you will need:
- A full UK driving licence (as driving is required for this role)
- Experience supporting young people (e.g., supported housing, homeless services, residential, outreach, or similar)
- Willingness to complete required safer recruitment checks, including Enhanced DBS where applicable
