Location: Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay (DOE)

Job Description:

As a Young Persons Support Worker in Rhoose, you’ll support children and young people who may be experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and trauma. This Young Persons Support Worker role in Rhoose offers meaningful work, excellent rates of pay, and ongoing support to help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Young Persons Support Worker in Rhoose
  • Promote independence and wellbeing, helping young people build confidence and stability
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children as part of the Young Persons Support Worker role in Rhoose
  • Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., climbing, baking, and trips) to encourage engagement and wellbeing
  • Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare by following care plans and guidelines
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans to ensure safety and consistency
  • Support, de-escalate, and minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
  • Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
  • TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (where applicable)
  • Valid UK driving licence (required)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
