Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker
Location: Rhoose, Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay (DOE)
Job Description:

As a Young Persons Support Worker in Rhoose, you’ll support children and young people who may be experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and trauma. Key Responsibilities:
- Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Young Persons Support Worker in Rhoose
- Promote independence and wellbeing, helping young people build confidence and stability
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children as part of the Young Persons Support Worker role in Rhoose
- Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., climbing, baking, and trips) to encourage engagement and wellbeing
- Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare by following care plans and guidelines
- Provide emotional and practical support within the home environment
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans to ensure safety and consistency
- Support, de-escalate, and minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
- Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
- TMVA - Restraint Training Certificate (where applicable)
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
