Job Title: Young Persons Support Worker
Location: Bridgend, Bridgend County, Wales
Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 inclusive of holiday pay (DOE)

As a Young Persons Support Worker in Bridgend, you’ll support children and young people who may be experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and trauma. Key Responsibilities:
- Support young people in day-to-day activities and interests as a Young Persons Support Worker in Bridgend
- Promote independence and wellbeing, helping young people build confidence and stability
- Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children as part of the Young Persons Support Worker role in Bridgend
- Support weekend and evening activities (e.g., climbing, baking cakes, and trips)
- Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare
- Provide emotional and practical support within the young person’s home
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
- Support, overcome, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
Requirements:
- A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
- Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
- At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
- TMVA (Restraint Training) certificate, or willingness to undergo the 3-day course
- Valid UK driving licence (required)
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
