Job Description:
Our client, a leading children’s charity, is seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join their team in Coalville. 
This role offers the opportunity to work within a nurturing environment supporting children and young people aged 8–18, providing short-term placements in a safe and caring setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting emotional wellbeing, independence, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Residential Support Worker your daily duties will include:

  • Building trusting, nurturing relationships that support each young person’s independence and emotional resilience.
  • Collaborating with parents, carers, and professionals to deliver holistic care.
  • Contributing to the day-to-day running of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
  • Accurately documenting and maintaining records in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
  • Promoting and maintaining a safe, supportive environment at all times.
  • Upholding safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the protection of all service users.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Residential Support Worker, you will need:

  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve this within the required timeframe.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Be motivated by making a meaningful difference in young people's lives.
  • Be flexible and committed to working sleep-ins, shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
