Salary: £13.68 - £28.40 (inclusive of holiday pay)

Job Description:

As a Young Persons Support Worker in Newton, you’ll support children and young people who may be experiencing homelessness, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and trauma. Key Responsibilities:

• Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests as a Young Persons Support Worker in Newton
• Promote independence and wellbeing for young people in your care
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away with the children (as required)
• Support weekend and evening activities, ranging from community activities to trips away
• Protect children and young people from risks to health and welfare
• Provide emotional and practical support within the young person’s home
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to ensure safety
• Support, de-escalate, and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging

Requirements:

• A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient approach
• At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
• Restraint trained (or willing to undergo the 3-day course)
• Valid UK Driving Licence (required)
• TMVA restraint training certificate (where applicable)
• Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service, or be willing to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
