Job Description:
Our client, a leading independent school in Wirral, is seeking a dedicated Youth Support Worker to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties within a dynamic and innovative environment. The position initially starts as a temporary role with the potential to become permanent after 12 weeks, providing a valuable pathway into long-term employment.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Youth Support Worker based in Wirral, your daily duties will include:

  • Offering day-to-day emotional and practical support to students.
  • Motivating and empowering young people to gain independence.
  • Providing support and advice in line with support plans and keyworker requests.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students to foster engagement.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a dedicated team to promote student well-being.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Youth Support Worker in Wirral, you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young people in social care, education, or care settings (minimum 6 months).
  • Strong relationship-building skills and understanding of trauma, domestic abuse, and mental health issues.
  • Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
