About the Role

As a Supported Living / Housing Support Worker, you will provide practical, emotional, and developmental support to young people aged 16–25 living in supported or transitional accommodation. The role focuses on building life skills, promoting independence, and supporting young people to maintain safe and stable housing while working towards education, employment, and personal goals.
Key Responsibilities

Housing & Daily Living Support

  • Support young people to maintain safe, clean, and stable accommodation
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and grocery shopping
  • Support tenancy responsibilities, including rent, property care, and neighbour relations
  • Assist young people in developing independent living skills
Youth Support & Development
  • Build positive, trusting relationships using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach
  • Support emotional well-being and social connection
  • Encourage participation in education, training, employment, and community activities
  • Assist young people in setting and working towards personal goals
Case Support & Coordination
  • Work alongside case workers, youth workers, and external services
  • Support young people to attend appointments (health, education, housing, legal)
  • Contribute to support plans, progress notes, and incident reporting
  • Identify risks and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours or crises
Safety, Compliance & Advocacy
  • Maintain a safe environment and respond to incidents in line with policies
  • Promote young people’s rights, choice, and self-determination
  • Follow safeguarding, child protection, and organisational procedures
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

    What you’ll need to be successful as a Support Worker
  • You will have a strong value base and be able to offer an empathetic approach to individuals within supported housing environments.
  • Ideally, some level of experience within a similar Social Care setting.
