I’ve always believed that great recruitment isn’t just about matching a CV to a job description – it’s about connecting people with people. It’s about understanding what truly motivates someone, what makes them feel valued, and finding them a role where they can thrive while making a difference.

Hi, my name is Kerry and I'm the Associate Director of our Permanent Social Care Division. 

My journey started in the health and social care sector, working as a Care Co-ordinator in an assessment centre supporting adults and children with learning disabilities. That role meant a lot to me personally – my brother-in-law has Down's Syndrome, so I’d already seen the challenges people with learning disabilities can face. I was drawn to the role by a genuine desire to learn more, to help, and to be part of something meaningful. I loved building relationships with the clients and being able to make a small but real difference in their lives.

But I also craved a faster-paced environment, which led me into the world of recruitment. I started out in legal recruitment, but it didn’t take long before I realised how much I missed the health and social care world. In 2004, I combined both passions by stepping into a specialist care recruitment role – and I haven’t looked back since.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of recruiting across a wide range of roles – from Support Workers to Registered Managers and Executive-level leaders. I’ve worked closely with services supporting people experiencing homelessness, addiction, domestic violence, and more. I’ve even helped implement and manage large-scale contracts providing over 1,000 hours of temporary care every week.

What I love most about my job is knowing that every placement I make sends ripples of impact through people’s lives – not just the candidate and the employer, but the vulnerable individuals they’ll be supporting too. There’s no better feeling than calling someone to tell them they’ve got the role they really wanted and hearing the excitement in their voice.

Now, I’m proud to be part of the Vetro team, specialising in permanent recruitment for Support Workers, Managers, and senior-level roles. I take a personal, hands-on approach, and I’m passionate about getting it right – because when you put the right people in the right roles, incredible things happen.
