Job Description
Vetro are seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a friendly, values-led primary school environment in Cheshire. This is an opportunity where you will provide targeted support (including 1:1 and small-group assistance) to help children engage with learning, build confidence, and make consistent progress.

Working as part of a supportive education team, you will contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom culture and play a key role in helping pupils access the curriculum and develop socially and emotionally, while maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, your daily duties will include:

• Delivering 1:1 support and small-group interventions to meet individual learning and pastoral needs, including supporting pupils with additional needs where required
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, classroom routines, and resource preparation to help pupils stay focused and engaged
• Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and inclusion through consistent support strategies and clear boundaries
• Observing and reporting progress, contributing to pupil targets, and working collaboratively with teaching staff and wider support colleagues
• Supporting supervision duties during the school day in line with the needs of the setting

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will need:

• Relevant experience supporting children in a school, education, or child-focused setting (primary experience preferred)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and families
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one)
• A clear commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with the ability to follow school policies and procedures consistently
• A patient, proactive, and reliable approach, with a team-focused attitude and high expectations for pupil achievement
