Job Title: Cover Teacher

Location: Newport

Salary: £120 per day minimum

Employment Type: Full time - Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Cover Teacher to join our team in Newport. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recently qualified or experienced teachers to gain valuable classroom experience across the 11-18 age range within a supportive and innovative environment. 

Key Responsibilities:
As a Cover Teacher based in Newport, your daily duties will include:

• Supervising learners across various year groups, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
• Delivering planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement.
• Supporting students’ wellbeing and progress, fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Participating in professional development programmes to enhance teaching skills and curriculum knowledge.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Cover Teacher, you will need:

• Background working with secondary school students (ages 11–18) or managing groups of young people.
• Degree, higher education qualification, or relevant youth work experience (QTS/PGCE not required).
• Strong communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach to team working.
