Salary: £173 per day minimum

Employment Type: Full-time - Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic Expressive Arts Faculty at a leading secondary school in Caerphilly. This role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Years 7 to 9 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE Drama, within a vibrant educational environment in South Wales.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Drama Teacher your daily duties will include:

• Delivering engaging, inclusive, and high-quality Drama lessons to students of varying abilities.
• Securing excellent academic outcomes through effective teaching, assessment, and feedback.
• Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment aligned with the Curriculum for Wales.
• Differentiating lessons to support all learners and using data to monitor progress.
• Promoting learner independence, reflection, and ownership of their learning journey.
• Embedding literacy, numeracy, and digital skills within Drama teaching.
• Developing cross-curricular links and authentic learning experiences to broaden cultural understanding.
• Engaging with parents, carers, and stakeholders to support student development.

• Work effectively with colleagues and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
• Support the professional growth of colleagues through collaboration and shared best practice.
• Take responsibility for your own professional development by engaging with educational research and innovative teaching approaches.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Drama Teacher, you will need:

• An appropriate degree qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Current registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• Successful teaching experience of Drama up to GCSE level.
• Good understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and target-setting.
• Knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and its implications for Drama education.
• Experience of using emerging technologies to support teaching and learning.
• Strong classroom management skills and a thorough understanding of safeguarding procedures.
