Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (CALU)
Location: Newport, Gwent, South East Wales
Salary: £120 per day minimum
Employment Type: Full time - Monday to Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Our client, a Welsh-medium secondary school in Newport, Gwent, is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (CALU) to join their vibrant team. Key Responsibilities:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (CALU) in Newport, Gwent, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting the language development of learners within the immersion centre, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
• Implementing literacy intervention plans across the school to enhance learners’ reading and writing skills.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging lessons and providing tailored support to individual and groups of students.
• Contributing to the school’s ethos of high expectations and fostering a positive, respectful learning environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (CALU), you will need:

• An NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Experience working in an educational setting, preferably supporting language development or literacy.
• Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and a Full UK Driving Licence (if required for the role).
