Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Key Stage 2 SEND Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (social, emotional, and mental health) school within the Wirral. This role involves working with children aged 9 to 16 who have diverse SEMH needs and Education, Health and Care Plans.
You will be part of a dedicated team committed to providing children with the best life chances through tailored educational and social support.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Key Stage 2 SEND Teacher in the Wirral, your daily duties will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups or whole-class settings.
- Implementing effective behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborating with colleagues and the leadership team to develop personalised learning programmes.
- Monitoring and recording pupils’ progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to ensure positive outcomes.
- Supporting pupils’ social and vocational skills development to enhance their independence and confidence.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Key Stage 2 SEND Teacher, you will need:
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS or equivalent).
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs, ideally within a school setting.
- Excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
- A flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills.
- Commitment to supporting pupils’ emotional and educational development.
