Key Responsibilities:
As a SEND Teacher in the Wirral, your daily duties will include:

  • Delivering high-quality teaching and learning for secondary-aged students with autism and complex needs, ensuring all make strong academic, personal, and social progress.
  • Planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons tailored to meet individual EHCP outcomes and diverse abilities.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Collaborating closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external agencies to support holistic student development.
  • Using effective assessment strategies to monitor progress, identify next steps, and adapt teaching approaches to maximise outcomes for all learners.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a SEND Teacher in the Wirral, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or recognised equivalent).
  • Experience of teaching students with SEND, particularly those with autism and/or complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, inclusive teaching practices, and EHCP processes.
  • Ability to adapt curriculum content and teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment.
