Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Specialist Teacher of SEND at a Grammar School, located in Liverpool, Merseyside.

This role offers a unique chance to develop SEND leadership skills within a supportive and forward-thinking school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Headteacher for SEND and Inclusion to enhance SEND provision, curriculum development, and case management.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Specialist Teacher of SEND based in Liverpool, your daily duties will include:

  • Supporting the Assistant Headteacher in maintaining accurate records of students with special educational needs.
  • Coordinating interventions, meetings, and assessments to ensure effective resource utilisation.
  • Monitoring and tracking student progress, documenting outcomes, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Liaising with external agencies and working collaboratively with families and the wider school community.
  • Providing support to the Student Support Team to promote inclusive practice and safeguarding.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Specialist Teacher of SEND, you will need:

  • Appropriate qualifications and/or relevant experience working with young people in SEND settings.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational and analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students, in line with statutory guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education.
  • Experience in case management, curriculum development, or working with external agencies is desirable.
