Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team in Newport, Gwent. This role involves supporting pupils across various key stages within a vibrant, modern school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small group settings to promote inclusive learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant based in Newport, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting pupils with diverse educational needs on a one-to-one basis and within small groups in the school’s Base.
- Collaborating with teachers and the ALNCO to develop tailored support plans for pupils.
- Assisting in creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters pupil growth and confidence.
- Monitoring and recording pupil progress to inform ongoing support strategies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant you will need:
- Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
- Experience working with pupils with special educational needs or in a similar educational setting.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check.
