Job Description:
We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Support Centre at Cardiff school. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a bespoke Step 3 provision designed for KS3 pupils with complex behavioural, emotional, and social needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting learners to stabilise, rebuild confidence, and reintegrate into mainstream lessons within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant based in Cardiff, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting pupils with complex needs by implementing trauma-informed and relationship-focused approaches.
- Collaborating with mainstream subject staff to deliver a bespoke core curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and additional support for learners.
- Contributing to behaviour management and creating a safe, supportive environment for pupils within the Support Centre.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- An NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
- Experience working with pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social needs, ideally within a special or support setting.
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and a Full UK Driving Licence (if applicable).
