Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team, located in Wales. This role involves providing high-quality teaching and learning support to pupils, with a focus on promoting emotional wellbeing and fostering independence within a nurturing environment. Our team works closely with the Local Authority to deliver a service that prioritises pupil wellbeing and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant based in Monmouthshire, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting pupils with a wide range of learning needs to enhance their educational experience
- Assisting in enabling pupils to gain independence and participate fully in the curriculum and school life
- Supporting the health and wellbeing needs of individual pupils through targeted interventions
- Contributing to the school’s procedures for promoting high levels of attendance and engagement
- Participating in professional development programmes centred on trauma-informed and restorative practices
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
- Experience working with pupils with diverse learning needs in an educational or care setting
- Mandatory compliance with an Enhanced DBS Check and relevant safeguarding training
- A compassionate approach and strong communication skills
