Job Description
Vetro are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Cheshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional learning needs (including autism) within a structured, nurturing environment where safeguarding and pupil wellbeing come first.
You will work closely with teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access learning, build independence, and feel safe, supported, and understood throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, your daily duties will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils engage with learning activities and routines
- Supporting pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development, using consistent strategies
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation, behaviour support, and progress observations, ensuring accurate feedback is shared with the team
Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Relevant school-based/support experience (experience supporting autism/SEND is highly desirable)
- A calm, caring, and resilient approach, with the ability to follow structured plans and boundaries consistently
- Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one) and satisfactory references in line with safer recruitment
