Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and inspiring Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Cheshire. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for both experienced Teaching Assistants and recently qualified teachers to gain valuable school-based experience within a supportive environment. The successful candidate will motivate, encourage, and engage children while maintaining high expectations to support their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant based in Cheshire, your daily duties will include:
- Supporting pupils across all areas of the primary school curriculum.
- Motivating, encouraging, and engaging children in their learning.
- Acting as a positive role model and maintaining high standards of behaviour and attainment.
- Assisting teachers with planning, teaching, and assessment activities.
- Monitoring and tracking pupil progress to identify additional support needs.
- Providing tailored support to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
- Building positive relationships with children to foster confidence, independence, and resilience.
- Collaborating with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Contributing to the wider school community and promoting a positive atmosphere.
- Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed to maintain the safety and welfare of pupils.
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant in Cheshire, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children in a primary school or similar setting.
- A strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to motivate and engage children effectively.
- High expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement.
- Knowledge of planning, assessment, and progress tracking.
- A caring, enthusiastic, and inspiring approach.
- Strong organisational skills and adaptability to individual needs.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education, childcare, or learning support are desirable.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding compliance.
