Job Description
Vetro are seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 1) to work on the Wirral within a specialist education setting supporting pupils with severe and complex needs. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where you’ll help learners to access education, develop independence, and thrive in a safe, structured environment. You’ll join a supportive team focused on high-quality pastoral and learning support across on-site and off-site activities.

Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant (Level 1), your daily duties will include:

• Supporting pupils’ learning and engagement in the classroom through tailored, practical assistance aligned to individual needs
• Promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and inclusion, helping pupils build confidence and independence throughout the school day
• Working closely with teachers and the wider support team to contribute to plans, routines, and learning activities (including supporting trips or off-site learning where required)

Requirements & Qualifications
To be successful as a Teaching Assistant (Level 1), you will need:

• Relevant TA qualification or demonstrable experience supporting children/young people (experience in additional learning needs/SEN settings is highly valued)
• Secure understanding of child development and a genuine commitment to supporting teaching, learning, and pupil wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to complete one) and a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
