Employment Type: Full-time - Monday to Friday - 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Description:
We are recruiting a passionate Welsh-speaking Teaching Assistant on behalf of a primary school in the heart of Newport. In this full-time role, you'll be supporting pupils through immersive Welsh-medium education in a warm, welcoming setting. Key Responsibilities:
As a Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant based in Newport, your daily duties will include:
- Working alongside class teachers to deliver lessons in an immersive Welsh setting
- Serving as an inspiring Welsh linguistic role model inside the classroom and during break times
- Providing dedicated support for pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) when required
- Assisting with classroom management and helping maintain a positive, safe learning environment
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Welsh-Speaking Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- Fluent spoken and written Welsh (essential)
- Minimum of 3 months experience working with children in schools, nurseries, or childcare settings; SEN experience is beneficial
- Warm, reliable, adaptable, and passionate about child development
- Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
